So last week I posted how someone randomly gave me 65 Million in GTA Online. Well yesterday afternoon I was playing a room online and someone kept putting 100 Million Dollar bounties on peoples heads. Try as I might I was unable to collect the bounty. Then all of a sudden notifications started popping up on my screen. When all was said and done I had an additional 650 million dollars added to my account by two different players.

I did some digging, and apparently this is money that was obtained by a hack that allowed for massive payouts in the missions. If you receive this money from a player randomly you cannot get in trouble for taking it but I guess if you give it away you can face the ban hammer. Additionally rockstar has offered to remove the money from any players account that contacts them about it... yeah... ok... Ill do that once I have bought everything.

From what I have read this is really fucking up RockStars microtransaction market place and costing them a good chunk of cash since no one is using real money to buy fake money

So somebody is allowing you to unlock things in the game you already payed for without having to pay extra for it?

How unethical...

I doubt they are doing that bad seing as how the GTAV series was the fastest entertainment franchise EVER to gross over $1,000,000,000.00 (and FYI, that is in real money)

Give away hack money=ban?
Then doing $100m bounties is another way to give it away. Bounty someone and they let a specific guy kill em...then money isn't given away its earned.

You are 100% correct, but any time a company has a system in place to make money and that system is not being used it is costing them.

I am sure it is being used, just not as much as they would like it too be used. A system like that is mostly computer controlled. I am sure it cost them a few thousand dollars to get set up, and they probably have an IT team designated to that system (probably an ancillary designation); but, as this is a game, in which the allure will eventually wear out, they either have to plan to shut this system down at some point, or have it set up to run virtually on its own, they may just have to make this happen sooner than later.

This happened to me in Forza Horizon. I beat a guy who had put a 999,999,999 cr reward on a time he set. The time was like 4 minutes on a minute and a half run. Easily beaten, money in my bank, next day message from turn 10, you have been banned permanently from our servers for modifying your save file. I was unable to play forza online with my 360 after that. Thank god for xbone.

Whhhhhhhaaaaaaat! Why didnt you just call them. This is what I am not fully understanding. So many people are saying they got the ban hammer for things they didnt do, then why wouldnt they call support and be all like. "Yo Bitches I aint do SHIT, Some honky ass mutha fucka left dat shit right ther and it popped up in my account, Unblock me before I go all "Blade 2" on your asses"

Rockstar said in a public release that the recipients of the money WILL NOT get in trouble, unless they themselves start distributing it out to other players. You can call rockstar and they will remove the money from your account if you would like them to. I am going to eventually do that but not even bother right now because of how frequently this has been happening I am sure it will happen again and that will just be more hassle. Once they have patched this and fixed the problem then it will be worth taking the time to get it removed. I dont really want all this cash because it makes the concept of heists far less exciting

Yeah i 100% agree, I opened a ticket with Rockstar support yesterday to have the money removed, i have heard they are very slow to respond to tickets.

Once the ban falls, it is irrevocable. So I was informed when I contacted both Turn 10 and Microsoft.
